Rep. Mary Dye, R-Pomeroy, talks about the need to improve water quality in Washington state to save, preserve and promote the salmon population. Dye, who serves as ranking Republican on the House Environment and Energy Committee, has introduced four bills to combat urban heat island effect that is sending warm stormwater into Puget Sound and untreated wastewater sewage that is also spilling into the sound and harming the state’s salmon population.
