Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Since being sworn into office on May 8, I've felt humbled every day by the thought that I get to represent you in the Legislature.
Service has always played a big role in my life. It's what compelled me to be in public service. I understand the issues our district faces because I've lived in the 9th most of my life. I will never underestimate the impact state government can have on a district like ours, both positive and negative.
We are planning to vote on the 2015-17 operating budget tonight, and we may also vote on the capital budget and a transportation tax package. As final votes are taken on the major items we have left, I want you to know that your voice has been heard in Olympia. In every meeting I've held and in every vote that I've taken, you have been on the forefront of my mind. I am here to serve you, and I take that responsibility very seriously.
Because I am running for office in November in order to continue representing you in the Legislature, my communications will be put under an election-year freeze beginning July 1. However, I am not restricted from responding to your emails, phone calls and messages. Nor am I restricted from having in-person meetings with you, so please continue to reach out to me as you normally would.
In closing, I want to again say how honored and humbled I am for the opportunity to serve as your state representative in the Legislature. It is truly a privilege.
Until next time.
