Dear Friends and Neighbors,
I am very honored and humbled to have the opportunity to serve as your state representative in the 9th District. I've lived in the 9th most of my life, and can think of no better place to call home.
There are many issues facing our district and state, and I look forward to working with my fellow legislators to help address them in order to make our state a better place to live, work and raise a family. I'm quickly building as many relationships as I can, both in Olympia and in district. I've been meeting with legislators, mayors, port commissioners, school administrators, farmers and small business owners to discuss a wide range of policy items.
I have been selected to serve on the House Business and Financial Services Committee, which considers the licensing and regulation of businesses. The committee also considers issues relating to the safety and soundness of state banks and credit unions, the regulation of consumer credit and lending, and the regulation of securities and investments.
I have also been selected to serve on the House Environment Committee, which considers issues relating to air quality, aquatic lands, oil spill prevention, recycling and solid waste, hazardous waste, toxics, climate change, and parks and recreation.
One of my top priorities will be working to reduce the burden of state bureaucracy on the people of Eastern Washington. I am committed to being a vocal advocate for limited but effective government, speaking out against any and all government overreach. I will also be a reform-minded legislator, pushing for more accountability in state government so that we work more efficiently and effectively for you. Finally, I will be a strong supporter of legislation that provides economic opportunity for all Washingtonians and allows entrepreneurs to succeed.
In closing, I want to again say how honored and humbled I am for the opportunity to serve as your state representative. Our state faces many serious challenges, but I know we can accomplish great things if we work together. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with me with any comments, questions or concerns. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org, and my phone number is (360) 786-7942. It is a privilege to serve you and the wonderful people of the 9th Legislative District.
